On-One Gimp review coming soon……

Thursday, April 14th, 2005

Young Trevor from work (who is older than me, hah!) has sourced a Gimp frame for testing from the kind folks at On-One Australia. Word on the street is that it will be arriving tomorrow / early next week, but i am just hoping sometime in the next couple of weeks.

As you can see the gimp is a pimp frame, with adjustable disc mounts for horizontal dropouts (something that alot of people manage to fuck up), looks to be good geomotry and is made from steel. It will be my first dirt jump bike to ride that is made from steel and i am keen to see what all the fuss is about, so expect a long and thoughtful review on it.

Riverside Skate Park

Located in the Alexandra Gardens on Boathouse Drive, on the southern side of the Yarra, just past the boatsheds. Access is via Pettycoat Lane. Food is supplied from the café, with first aid. The park offers 2 concrete banks, table top, 2 small doubles and a steaper box with a few blocks and rails. On one end there’s a bank, quarter, another bank and then another quarter. Due to the convenience of Riverside, it means that the park can be very busy during the days, especially during school holidays. It’s recommended that MTB riders should ride at night.

Address: Boathouse Drive, Alexandra Gardens, Melbourne, 3000, Victoria
Melways: 2F, J7

Revolution Freeride

Tuesday, April 12th, 2005

Revolution Freeride is a very cool site, focusing on freeriding with hardtails. This site definitely is a cool spot to head over to if your into dirt jumping / urban (which you are, this is why you are here duh!).

Probably the best part about the site would be the monthly update E.Magazine, which you can hit up at http://www.revolutionfreeride.com/revfr2003/main/revfrmag.asp. This month it is checking out Atom Labs, BMX Cranksets, Ironhorse Yakuza Waka Gashira Hardtail (WTF is with Ironhorse names atm!?). They also have a profile on 403 media.

Happy surfing pilgrims.
