Dobermann Dirt Jam & Fiesta

Thursday, July 13th, 2006

For a first event, the podium of the Dobermann dirt jam was impressive!

Kyle Ebbett (Scott USA) took the first place, Jim Dechamp (Mongoose) second, and Joe Prisel (Union street bike) third.

But the most impressive was the level of riding we had all day. From EXPERT winner Michel Plonka throwing nice tail whips to Elliot Jarry-Bolduc (second place EXPERT) using the course in ways that we were not expecting! The fight for the top 3 PRO position was one hell of a war! Dechamp was on fire all day going big and clean with back flips one foot, back flips transfer, front flips ect, Prisel’s riding with his legendary focus and determination did some super clean and huge runs. We also had some amazing riding from riders out of Yasmouth MA, Clinton McMahon and Rocco Quintiliani, also Nick Soloninka coming all the way from North Carolina, not to forget Sal Wood from Union street bikes who showed some nice transfers and some impressive tail whips going up on the scaffold. At the end of the day Ebbett took the first place with his incredible back flip on the scaffold, WHAT A SHOW!

Typical small event way, the day started with the riders completely redesigning the course and ended in one of the wildest party of all time.

The 2 double jumps that we had were completely soaked by the rain so all the riders took a shovel and transformed the course into what they wanted, a nice big double and a step up on a 8.5 foot scaffold. The riders and crowd had fun all day and after the comp it was time to open up the Dobermann BREW kegs, specially brewed by Mathieu and Alain for the event.

Our friends from 9volts and Drinkers Peace fired up the crowd with some super loud punk rock alternative sound. Before the third band started their set, we were out of beer?! To the rescue two PRO riders (which names will remain secret) saved the night by using there winnings to buy 300$ of beer for everyone. The stage was now set for the ultimate hardcore rock band, Maximum RNR, to show us what they do the best, ROCK THE PLACE!!!!! Suddenly, the Dobermann machine shop turned in to a wild trash pit! Incredible! After the show, we managed to close the shop and the party ended at 5 or 6 am at one of the band’s house. It was a long day and a long night but is was fun!

We are looking forward to doing it again next year.

Mathieu and Alain would like to thank all our friends and family who helped us during the event and we also want to thanks all the riders for coming… BIG THANKS EVERY ONE!!!!!!

Thanks to JP Allard for the great pics.

Cheers!

Park Orchards 4X Race

Well it has been a week since the event but i am still hearing great things about the 4X meet organised by SMBP and held at Park Orchards BMX track. The event was the first 4X race held within Melbourne and it let no one down.

There was doubt about how the event would go when running it at a BMX track, but i think the only thing riders really complained about was their lack of fitness. The track was in superb condition and had been shortened for the 4X race. It also had alot going for it that you don’t usually find at a 4X race including a gas operated starting gate which put everyone’s gate starts to the test.

The event was ran extremely well under the supervision of the Park Orchards BMX Club and SMBP. There was a full canteen to keep everyone fed, no one had to wait to long as the motos were organised very well. There was also full mechanical support at no charge thanks to BikeNow and we also showed off a bunch of our products there.

Everyone who raced had a great time, but especially the winners who walked away with some great prizes such as Spy Goggles, Fox Racing Kits, Focused DVDs and much more. We also gave away 2 spot prizes which were 2 Gamut chain devices no less (bet you kicking yourself you didn’t enter now!).

Revolution Issue 6

rev006cover.jpg

Revolution issue 6 has just hit the shelves of your local news agent. As always it looks a treat and is choc-a-block with quality content. I can’t recommend enough to you guys to go out and buy this mag. It is in my opinion one of the best mags out there, especially for the kind of riding we are all into. So make sure you check it out and continue to support it so that they can keep producing a mag of such high quality, hopefully more often in the future.

We got some mentions for our new Gamut chain devices and also some of our 24Seven gear:

Gamut Feature
24Seven Slack Pedal Feature
24Seven Suicide Set Feature

Harry’s 24Seven

Monday, March 27th, 2006

harrysbike4.jpg

After selling his DMR, Harry purchased his lime green 24Seven Dark Angel v24 frame about 2 weeks ago. When I saw it, I couldn’t help myself. I had to have a ride of his new green machine. The top tube is quite long for a very short seat tube. It gives it a really slack and street feeling bike. Also with a short chain stay, makes it easy to manual and helps out with doing tricky street stuff.

Ken’s Sesh at Windsor

Monday, March 27th, 2006

I gave Ken a call on Friday, requesting that he should come to Windsor for a spin! Nothing too hardcore, just a cruisy sesh to keep the joints moving and flowing. After getting through the 8 pack he was stylin’ it up.

I was trying to get some different angles from different areas of the track. Mainly just experimental work to see what I could come up with.
