Inner guide plates have been used for many years with a great deal of success, they almost entirely eliminate chain drop at a fraction of the weight of a roller or box style chain guides.
The main problem being that aluminium rings wear out quite rapidly, and as we all know, the noise sucks.
Our ring is lined with polyurethane and is virtually silent in operation. It is the most indestructible material similar to that used in skateboard wheels.
