Southbank and Docklands Urban
Southbank is one of the main parts in the city that is fun to ride. It’s got plenty of ledges and tricky stuff to trick on. Southbank starts under the bridge where St. Kilda Rd. becomes Swanston St. It continues all the way up along the Yarra River, crossing over Kings Way Bridge, Crown and Exhibition Centre. It then turns in to an old foot bridge along side of the Yarra River, which leads all the way up to Yarra’s Edge apartments at the Docklands. After crossing over the arty “Web “Bridge”, Southbank ends and turns into a scenic footpath all the way up along the tram line to the Telstra Dome (which has plenty of areas to sesh) and finally ends at the New Key apartments.
If you follow the dotted lines along the map, you will easily find your way around.
The first stop on Southbank are the concrete ledges. Heaps of area to try out your tricky techniques such as stalling, manualling, barspins, 180’s etc etc.
The second stop is the big red art stage. Coated with a soft play-ground rubber makes it good for learning new tricks.
When you get to the Web Bridge at Yarra’s Edge. To the left, you will find some more ledges to ride. As you cross the winding bridge and cruise along the footpath next to the tram line. You will come to a big statue on the right at the first intersection.
As you keep riding along the path, you will notice Telstra Dome on the right with a few stair gaps and ledges. You will then end up at a few more banks.
At the end of the line is New Key apartments. Take a sharp left along the water to find some more areas to sesh. Ride hard and have fun!!
